The image of the Spanish white stallions is iconic. They have a magnificent pure white coat which is kept immaculately clean due to the hard work of the excellent grooms. The stallions are never clipped. Instead they are carefully rugged to help them to stay warm without the need to grow a very heavy winter coat. The stallions stables are kept scrupulously clean to help prevent stains whilst they are laying down. If they do happen to lay down and become dirty they are only washed where the stain is with a very mild baby shampoo.
The stallions are only worked under saddle for 30 minutes and so do not generally sweat. If they do happen to get warm, they are washed down with warm water, and they then have a pampering session under the warm solarium to dry off (they love it), and after are thoroughly groomed. The grooms each have their own grooming kit, and keep it carefully under lock and key when they are not there!
