Stable layout

The Stallburg, one of Vienna’s most significant Renaissance buildings with its beautiful arcade courtyard is the historical stables of the Lipizzaner stallions. There is a square of baroque architecture providing a quiet and shady courtyard that lies within the Imperial Palace. The stallions are able to look out of their stables onto the square, and watch the riders and the grooms go about their daily routine.
In addition to the courtyard, there is a second set of stables that are inside providing the stallions with a warm and contented environment. These internal stables all have sliding doors, and brass fixtures. Along the hall you can find the washroom, and the feedroom, along with two separate solariums.
Just outside the courtyard is the world’s largest oval horse walker that was especially designed for the Spanish Riding School by Martin Collins, and can have 20 horses on it at a time.
